Very warm temps and windy conditions of today have turned lake ice conditions black. Ice is over 100 ft. off my shoreline.

The last several hours of pouring down rain will melt all ice on all smaller lakes in northern Vilas County WI. tonight and next few days.

We will be shore line fishing on opening week end on the P.I. chain at mid night and we will be pulling our fish, just as we did years ago.

The ice out conditions will be perfect for this event, as it has been in the past.

Waders, lighted bobbers and floating stick baits casted and retrieved very slowly are the tools.
