WALLEYE:

On this day, theses fish were caught right before the cloud bank rolled in as can be seen in the above photo. A jig and minnow was used and we were concentrating on the deeper water of this lake and the bigger fish were released. After the front pushed over top of us and the clouds became dark the action slowed down as is common when fishing deep, some lakes are similar when fishing suckers for Musky in deep water.

When fishing those coffee colored Lakes, reservoirs and Flowages, a glow in the dark jig head is extremely important as the water visibility in 20 to 40 ft or deeper is a black as black can be and no normally painted jig can be seen. A glow in the dark jig painted with phosphorescent paint is critical to the Walleye seeing your bait as this jig head acts like a flash light in the dark.
