On this special day of Walleye fishing, this Uncle and Nephew were very fortunate to catch 2 Trophy Walleye, both released. The Walleye were striking Crawlers presented on a 1/16 oz. jig head and shallow wood piles along the shore line. This is truly a wonderful and loving family.

When a strike was indicated I instructed them to count to 10, slowly, and then set the hook. All Walleye pictured above, were caught this way, today. Indicating the direction of the cast (by pointing my finger to the exact location) was extremely important. I would point with my fingers, to a select location I wanted them to cast and they would cast to where I was pointing towards and they continuously produced Walleye.

I have done this “pointing method” for years with my clients and they produce fish where I point. I have (personally fished) specific areas, on certain lakes, in northern Wisconsin and from past experience, I have caught fish in these locations. I, know and understand the shape of a specific weed bed, under water point, under water log or shore line structure area, such as a dock or docks  and I have caught fish at these locations as well as my paying customers.
