BLUE GILL – PIKE:   02 – 18 – 2015

Filming another National Television show with Mid West Outdoor Television for Northern Wisconsin and Vilas County Wisconsin is an honor for me and our area. This helps our area business and communities by showing instate and out of state fisherman “we do” have good fishing in our area. The filming of more National Television Shows with Mid West Outdoor Television and The Anglers Choice Guide Service will again be  taking place as a continuing event thru out this spring summer and fall of 2015.

Even with the cold weather the Blue Gill fishing went very well with Larry Ladowskie of Mid West Outdoors Television. We caught our Blue Gill in a shallow bay from the weeds and used wax worms, ice jigs 2 lb test line. Many fish were iced and released and only a few were kept for a fish fry. Working slowly was very important and letting the bait down to the bottom of the weeds was a critical step to our success, the bigger Gills were at the bottom of the weeds and the smaller ones were suspended in or just above the weeds. The Pike were on Tip Ups and Golden Shiners and also in the weeds, the big Pike shown above was caught and released by Larry during our outing.
