THE  “ICE IS OUT”  IN NORTHERN WISCONSIN.

What a difference 36 hours makes when it comes to weather, WOW.   After the 65 degree temps and heavy rain and wind of the 9th and 10th of April,  the ice is gone from 99% of all Northern Wisconsin Lakes of Vilas County.

Today the temp is 28 degrees and 1 inch of SNOW IS ON THE GROUND, that’s right, 1 inch of snow in the Manitowish Waters area of Northern Wisconsin.

The Turtle Flowage has been open at Murrays Landing for 2 weeks already.  A short cold spell is here now but, 57 degrees is forecast for tomorrow and the high 50 for the rest of the week.

I took the last several weeks in a row off for guiding and attended sport shows performing radio interviews and conducting seminars as well as attending my own booth.

I also was supposed to head down to the southern states for 2 weeks of Jumbo Crappie fishing but the heavy rains and severe weather of the last several days has prevented that from taking place.

My ice fishing season was fantastic, very successful and the busiest yet to date.     With “New Ice Houses” all ready to go for the 2017 and 2018 ice season, I have already been excepting reservations for ice fishing. These new and larger ice houses will each have all seating, heat, an Underwater Fishing Camera so you can actually see the fish biting the hook and all fishing equipment included for each fisherman.

This May and June of 2017 are completely booked for guiding, I will be guiding 7 days a week and I already have a few double headers booked on top of that as I am trying to help as many people as possible. I am also booked the first 5 days of July,  several openings available after that.
