In a few short days the ice is going out. As these photos of today clearly show.
Some years ago we saw this at the same time of year. A few of the bigger lakes will take a little longer.
As of today, some open water and black ice is common on most lakes in Vilas County WI..
Many people have been fishing the Wisconsin river for a few weeks, as well as other smaller rivers.
Remember, support the local business’s.
Some openings in July and August of 2024.
